President Obama has confirmed that US forces have killed the world’s most-wanted man, the Al-Qa’ida leader Osama bin Laden. He died in a gunfire battle when US troops swooped early on Monday morning in Pakistan.
Bin Laden has been hunted endlessly since the 9/11 terror attacks and before. Despite it being suspected he was hiding in Afghanistan for many years, he was located close to a Pakistani school in the city of Abbottabad.
Global leaders have expressed their acknowledgement and acceptance on learning of the news, with scenes of celebration among crowds outside the White House.
However, with this long-awaited revelation comes another threat, as many people around the world are now on-alert against reprisal attacks by Al-Qa’ida.
