Incredible Vettel wins in Turkey

Reigning world champion Sebastien Vettel is already clear in this season’s drivers’ championship and looked set to build on that when he set an incredible time in qualifying to start on pole position for the Turkish Grand Prix.

The race began on Sunday afternoon and Vettel managed a clean start which enabled him to create an advantage as his rivals scrapped behind in an action-packed race.

Once the pit-stops came into play the drivers changed positions regularly as many differed between using three-stop and four-stop strategies.

While Vettel was always in control at the front, Fernando Alonso and Mark Webber battled for second, with the Australian overtaking the Spaniard with a few laps to go to claim a Red Bull one-two finish.

Vettel’s third win from four races leaves him far ahead in the drivers’ standings, with the rest of the field struggling to find any way to catch him.
