An MP named Ryan Giggs as the footballer at the centre of the super-injunction storm on Monday in the house of Commons, as the furore over the privacy case increasingly dominated the media and public.
Liberal Democrat MP John Hemming used Giggs’ name in parliament despite the court order to have the ban lifted being denied earlier in the day.
Mr Hemming is protected by parliamentary privilege and so will not face legal action, and he cited the 75,000 Twitter users who have been micro-blogging about the story as reason for not keeping the “secret” any longer.
Giggs, who could previously only be identified as CTB, took out the super-injunction to hide details of an alleged affair with Big Brother star Imogen Thomas.
