Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes confirmed his retirement from football on Tuesday at the age of 36 after many successful years in the game.
He has made 676 appearances since his debut in 1994, winning 10 league titles and 2 Champions Leagues. He also won 66 caps for England before early international retirement. Many of his colleagues and former opponents in football have been paying their respects to his ability and career.
It had been speculated for a number of years that Scholes was ready to retire, and the confirmation today means that he will join the coaching team at United.
