Injunctions not so super on Twitter

The rumours over celebrity super-injunctions reached another level on Monday after an account on Twitter opened which apparently revealed some of the stars and secrets which are subject to gagging orders.

Discussion raged after BBC journalist Andrew Marr lifted an injunction he had taken out to hide an affair he had, despite him asking politicians private questions in the meantime. That revelation started debate on who else might have them in place, and why.

The media is under laws set by UK judges not to reveal any details about the personalities involved, yet it seems unlikely that the rulings are going to work as the stories appear to be emerging from the account on Twitter, although the accuracy of the tweets cannot be guaranteed.

It poses many problems and embarrassment for UK law-makers and those using the super-injunctions, unless they can find a way to stop the truth spreading further.
