Tests carried out on the explosive device taken from a man who staged a stand-off in a branch of a bank have shown that it was a hoax, and "not viable".
The event took place on Thursday, when police were called to the bank in Watford at about 10 a.m. where a man apparently had the bomb strapped to his leg. Many were evacuated from the surrounding area as the drama unfolded.
After around three and a half hours, the officers were able to arrest the man, who was twenty-three, and take him away.
