34 protestors killed in Hama, Syria

The latest violence during the civil unrest in Syria saw 34 people killed in the city of Hama on Friday, according to activists.

Government forces opened fire as a crowd of about 50,000 gathered after prayer to continue the protests against President Assad.

Reports are unclear because foreign journalists are being forbidden to enter the country, and pressure is continuing to grow on the authorities, with Hillary Clinton indicating that the US is losing patience with the regime.
