West Ham United’s new manager, Sam Allardyce, has admitted he has his work cut out in order to reverse the club’s fortunes and see them promoted back to the Premier League next season.
The former boss of Bolton, Newcastle and Blackburn in the top flight was appointed on Wednesday and admitted that he will probably lose many key players like Scott Parker. He also recognises he will have to work hard to overcome the doubts of fans unhappy with his selection.
However, the board has at least given him the whole summer to settle and organise the squad before they begin their Championship campaign.
