Reports suggest that another leading figure in the al-Qaeda terror network has been killed. This time, it is claimed that Fazul Abdullah Mohammed, supposedly behind the 1998 embassy bombings in Nairobi and Dar es Salaam, has been shot by police in Somalia.
Somali police claim to have shot him during an exchange of fire near a border checkpoint. The US claims the country has been used as a refuge by many terrorists as it has been without a government since 1991.
US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, expressed her belief in the significance of the killing, calling it another blow in the war against terror.
