Syrian army lauches attack

The latest violence during the civil unrest in Syria on Friday saw 22 people killed across the country, according to activists. Meanwhile, the army started on assault on the town of Jisr Al-Shughour after 120 members of security forces died there earlier in the week.

Refugees have been accepted into bordering Turkey, where the government has provided them accommodation and food, which is much more than what they say their own President was willing to offer.

Reports are unclear because foreign journalists are being forbidden to enter the country, and pressure is continuing to grow on the authorities, with many organisations worldwide demanding an end to the violence.
