Gabrielle Giffords, the congresswoman shot during a public event in Arizona earlier in the year, has released some pictures of herself on Facebook.
The photos show her outside and smiling. They were taken in the middle of May, before she underwent surgery on her skull.
The images are very positive, and everyone will be hoping they are an indication of her healthy recovery after the shooting incident which left many others dead or injured.
