Latest aftershock hits Fukushima

The troubled prefecture at Fukushima, which holds the stricken Daiichi nuclear power plant, was the epicentre for a 6.6-magnitude aftershock on Monday, exactly one month after the initial earthquake which caused so much devastation.

Employees at the plant were forced to abandon their work as they were evacuated, with the surrounding exclusion zone expected to be increased due to radiation leaks.

The aftershock caused a landslide into Iwaki City, although early warnings of a tsunami were later cancelled. Hundreds of thousands of homes were again affected, losing power and more.

28,000 are dead or missing in the aftermath of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.
