Strong First Day for Brits

The British nations enjoyed success on the opening day of the Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

For weeks, the main talking points have been over whether or not the events would even take place because of some shocking conditions in living areas, as the hosts had apparently not finished much of the preparation in time.

Thankfully though, attention could turn to the sport itself as the speculation and criticism was left behind, forgotten in part due to an impressive opening ceremony.

There were four medals in total for the Brits, including two for England in the swimming.

The Games have now fully begun, and everyone interested will be hoping for all the focus to remain on the performances and achievements of the athletes, although serious questions remain over the Indians’ efforts as hosts.
