Scotland Yard has promised to conduct a completely thorough investigation of the phone hacking scandal centring on the News of the World, following criticism of their approach so far.
The case was reopened by the Met after an internal inquiry by the paper led to the sacking of its assistant editor.
More and more stories are being revealed which are rumoured to suggest the extent that the hacking might have gone to. A series of high-profile reports by the paper are suspected of being aided by the illegal operation.
